App Works on Emulator but not on Phone

I am trying to test my app on a phone instead of Android Studio. The app works as expected in the emulator, but if I run it on a phone the background and text colors don't change and I get this error output:

Hi. Could you filter your logcat please and paste it again? Right now there doesn't seem to be anything related to your app there. In the logcat, there's a dropdown menu in the top right corner. Select "Show only selected application". Sometimes, it does not work the first time and still shows everything. In that case, select "No filter", then "Show only selected application again. Thank you.
