I see two major issues:

  • you compare the search term with "student.Name" (capital "N") but the property is "name" (little "n")
  • the function getStudentReport builds a "report" string, but does not return it.

There's a few other things you'll probably want to fix, but hopefully this will get you going again.

I'll take a look at your suggestions. What other things will I want to fix?

You might not go any further for this simple exercise, but some things that come to mind:

  • add more students to the database
  • make the program capable of reporting more than one student
  • make searches work no matter what case is used
