Courses Plus Student 21,053 PointsAndroid Fragments : adding fragment to placeholder task
Hey community, i have i get this error message and can't figure out why.
This is the task : Now create a new instance of this Fragment in MainActivity, and then add it to MainActivity's layout by using the placeholder ViewGroup (R.id.placeholder).
This is my code:
public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
Fragment fragment = new Fragment();
FragmentManager fragmentManager = getFragmentManager();
FragmentTransaction fragmentTransaction = fragmentManager.beginTransaction();
fragmentTransaction.add(R.id.placeholder, fragment);
fragmentTransaction.commit();
}
}
This is the error i get: Don't forget to include your NewsFragment instance as the second argument to the 'add' method.
Thanks for the help!

56,413 PointsThe challenge is asking you to create a specific kind of Fragment created for the challenge. You're creating just a general, blank Fragment instead.
