After I delete my node modules folder and do an npm install it just adds the folder back in again?

Hi guys,

I am working through this workspace on atom and I have managed to add bcrypt and colors to my dependencies and mocha to my dev dependecies. The node app file runs and the console logs the message in green. When I delete the node modules folder it stops working as expected but when I do an npm install it just adds the node modules folder back in again but I noticed on andrews it doesn't?

I believe it just didn't update in his workspace. npm install's core functionality is installing to the node modules directory, and it will create one if it doesn't exist.
