JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Making Decisions with Conditional Statements Add an Else If Clause

Add an else if clause that tests to see if the isStudent variable is true. If it is then open an alert dialog with the m

I add the else if clause like so :

else if ( isStudent) { alert("Welcome student."); }

and the alert window pops up and says " Welcome student." However, I am not passing..the error message reads: Hm....Im not seeing the message "Welcome student."

script.js
var isAdmin = false;
var isStudent = true;

if ( isAdmin ) {
    alert('Welcome administrator')
}
else if ( isStudent ) {
  alert('Welcome student.');
}

:point_right: The challenges can be picky about things like literal strings.

The challenge asked for a message showing "Welcome student", but your message is "Welcome student." :point_left: note the added punctuation.

Just remove the unexpected period and you should pass the challenge.

I got the same problem, and it's work ok in a preview, but I still get a bug:

var isAdmin = false; var isStudent = true;

if ( isAdmin ) { alert('Welcome administrator'); } else if ( isStudent ) { alert('Welcome student'); }

Any ideas why?

Same here. I am not able to pass this task using: const isAdmin = false; const isStudent = true;

if (isAdmin) { alert('Welcome Administrator') } else if (isStudent) { alert ('Welcome Student'); }
