Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 33,271 Pointsonce a variable is declared with the var keyword, you don't need to use var anymore. subsequent uses of the variable are made by just using its name. also your quotes are haphazard, that's why your formatted text is so discolored. you only need quotes for strings, not to make conditional statements in general.

You already have your variables declared. So there's no need to redeclare them anywhere with the keyword var. Simply use a and b inside of your if statement.
var a = 10;
var b = 20;
var c = 30;
if ( a > b ) { // If a is greater than b
} else { // If a is not greater than b
}
The final step to the challenge is to write your alert dialogues, which will use the alert function. Which looks like this:
alert('This is an example');
Your final program should look like this:
var a = 10;
var b = 20;
var c = 30;
if ( a > b ) { // If a is greater than b
alert('a is not greater than b');
} else { // Otherwise, if a is not greater than b
alert('a is not greater than b');
}
