% or px?

Earlier the width for primary and secondary were set to 60%. Now it's 960px. Which is better practice? Should we make it pixels when adding padding or is it just preference?

The unit choice depends on your intention. A measurement in pixels (px) will always be the same size, but one in percentage (%) will adapt to the width of the parent element, which will likely relate to the size of the window on the device used.
