Python Python Collections (2016, retired 2019) Dictionaries Word Count

Help whit the return!

I tried the code in my local environment and it works, please help me

wordcount.py
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.

def word_count(text):

    dictionary = {}
    word_list = text.lower().split(' ')

    for letter in word_list:
        try:
            count = dictionary[letter] + 1
            dictionary.update({letter:count})
        except:
            dictionary.update({letter:1})

    return dictionary

Use .split() to remove all whitespaces, for example, check this in your variant first: "Bla bla bla".

word_list = text.lower().split()

Perfect! :) Thank you.
