You've created your first Zap.
0:00
So now I'll teach you how to review and
manage all the activity in your Zaps to
0:02
ensure that you're
automating successfully.
0:06
Zapier keeps track of all
the tasks your Zaps attempt.
0:09
Each time your Zap triggers
an action successfully like
0:13
creating a calendar event,
it counts as a task.
0:16
You can view all the tasks your
Zaps have attempted in Zap history.
0:19
In your Zapier dashboard, click
Zap history in the left sidebar menu.
0:23
Zap history provides an overview
of the activity in your Zaps.
0:28
It displays all Zaps that ran,
the number of tasks automated and
0:33
details about what exactly
happened each time it ran.
0:37
For example, the Zap runs tab displays
the status of a Zap every time it runs.
0:41
This is where you can inspect if your
Zap ran and completed successfully or
0:48
produced an error while running.
0:52
The status will also let you know if
a Zap run is waiting to complete,
0:55
in progress or on hold.
0:59
To view details about a Zap,
click on a Zap run.
1:01
This page shows each individual
step of the Zap run,
1:05
including the status of each step,
the total number of tasks
1:08
the Zap run used, in this case 1, and the
data that goes in and out of each step.
1:13
For example, here, I can review data Coda
sent out when the new row was created,
1:19
and below, all the data that Google
Calendar received to create the event.
1:24
If for
some reason your Zap encountered an error,
1:30
this is where you can view where
the error occurred and why.
1:32
The Zaps page also provides a quick way
to access a Zap's history and details.
1:39
Here you can view and
manage all of your Zaps.
1:44
You can turn a specific Zap off,
back on, and
1:47
also view its history by
clicking on the down arrow.
1:50
Then from the drop down menu
clicking View Zap history.
1:54
The Zap details page provides even
more information about your Zap.
1:58
One way to access Zap details is
by clicking a Zap's info icon.
2:03
Here on the main Zap details page,
2:09
you're presented with basic information
about the Zap, like a description,
2:11
the date and time it was last edited, and
a list of app connections used in the Zap.
2:16
Then you can get information about the
Zap's task usage over a specific period,
2:21
the status of each time the Zap ran,
2:27
and the Change History tab shows a log
of when your Zap was turned on and
2:30
off in a given time period.
2:34
Finally, any app account you connect
to via Zapier gets listed in
2:39
the My Apps page.
2:44
This is another useful section
where you can manage and
2:46
test all of your app connections.
2:48
For example, clicking on Google Calendar
and selecting the Zaps tab
2:50
lets me know which of my zaps
are connected to Google Calendar.
2:55
Under connections, you can test if
the connection between Google Calendar and
3:00
Zapier is still active by clicking
anywhere on the connection and
3:05
selecting Test connection.
3:09
You're also able to disconnect or
reconnect your accounts here or
3:12
delete them if necessary.
3:15
So if your Zap is not working as expected,
or producing an error,
3:19
be sure to check the Zap history,
run details or connections to investigate,
3:23
troubleshoot and
solve any issues in your Zaps.
3:28
I've posted helpful resources on Zap
history and understanding the dashboard,
3:31
app connections and
more in the notes with this video.
