Welcome to Treehouse~ your life is about to forever change (for the better)!
You mentioned that the videos are going to fast, and I agree that sometimes it will 'feel' that way. After all, this is all new to you and in the beginning coding can seem both exiting and frightening. When I started taking courses here, I did not initially believe that I would be able to keep pace, but then I realized: it is a marathon, not a race. So I would encourage you to exert patience and learn to 'fail fast!'
I assure you that the tutorials here will provide you will all of the basics that you need to know to jumpstart a web-dev career. That said, I have a couple of suggestions.
(1) Pace yourself with the tutorials by researching information that supplements what you have learned prior to moving forward. Assuming that you are taking notes while you watch the tutorials, view 20-30 minutes of videos at a time then make a note of concepts that both understand and lack comprehension for. Your research should focus on the latter. Once you have finished doing that, watch the same tutorials again, this time coding along. The objective is not to focus on memorizing things, rather, to begin ingraining concepts that you will meet time and again.
(2) There are controls for the tutorials that allow us users to determine the pace of the video, so feel free to toy with it to a pace that is comfortable for you!
*Additionally, you may want to read the 'transcripts' as this gives me a different perspective on 'verbose' explanations provide by our uber intelligent instructors!
Keep at it and stay focused!
